Manish Verma’s predecessor, 40-year-old Suhas, a 2007-batch IAS officer and a professional para-badminton player, had a three-year successful stint in Noida and he led the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. He has now been appointed as secretary of the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare, UP.
The 39-year-old replaced Suhas LY, who has been promoted as the secretary of the sports and youth welfare department in Lucknow.
Verma graduated from JNU in New Delhi and comes from a political science background.
